Reaching and inspiring students during tough times.

In 2020, the Los Rios Community College District (LRCCD) needed to update its annual campaign - and adjust for the times. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, resulting job loss and inequities affecting many of LRCCD’s student demographics, and the transition to virtual learning, the district lost students and its recruitment efforts were badly hurt. After adjusting to the “new normal” of online education, it was time to reach back out to lapsed students and potential students.

After a series of collaborative workshops with the creative team at 3fold Communications, I wrote the campaign tagline: “For every future.” The ethos of the campaign was this: The pandemic may have changed your plans for your future, but at LRCCD, there’s a program for every future - no matter what yours may look like now, or even if you don’t know which step to take next. The client was thrilled with the update to their annual campaign, and it has proved to have legs for several sub-campaigns and advertising mediums.

The initial campaign launch included:

  • Campaign landing page - View Here

  • Paid digital ads including Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter ads; Google search ads; and responsive display ads.

  • Radio and music streaming media spots.

  • Email newsletter graphics.

  • Ad versions specific to each of the four colleges under the Los Rios Community College District.

  • Spanish translation for all ad assets.
